Pic of the Week: Carmona, Spain

My trip to Spain offered a lot of time to roam and explore. I had been staying in Sevilla and just been to my first bullfight when I was told about Carmona and its rich religious and cultural history. Being only a short bus ride for Sevilla, I found it impossible not to spend the day. I am glad I did.

The town offers relics and architecture dating back to the 2nd century BC with 15th century building on top of it with Roman, Moorish and Jewish influences. I found the city walkable, friendly and charming.

My pic of the week is taken from one of the cities best views at the main entrance gate, which, if I remember correctly, is from the 9th century.

This week’s honorable mentions includes a local butcher introducing me to a freshly plucked chicken and the back entrance to Carmona and the partially Roman-built road to Cordova.
